Work undertaken: Design and installation of equipment to a fly room

Close control fly room at the Department of Physiology at Oxford University

The Client Brief

Our client needed to transform an office room into a storage room for flies. The fly room required exact storage temperatures and humidity levels of 25 degrees celsius and 50-60% RH.

Our Solution

We designed and installed a small refrigeration system in the room, consisting of a ceiling-mounted evaporator and heater to provide the necessary temperature control. We also installed a small wall-mounted humidifier and a fan assisted blower unit to maintain the required humidity levels. The entire system is controlled by a project-specific control panel that provides control and fault indication.

The Results

The room was successfully transformed into a fly room that meets all the client requirements.
